About

Visual DialogScript, a Windows scripting language born in the 1990s and still maintained, published by V-Softs.

Visual DialogScript is a scripting language for Windows and its integrated development environment. Born in the 1990s to fill a gap left by Microsoft, it is still maintained today.

A language, not a framework of the moment

Visual DialogScript was built around one simple idea: to let anyone — seasoned programmer or not — quickly assemble a Windows utility, an automation script or a full application, without having to master the intricacies of the Windows API, typed variables or block-structured programming. A readable syntax, plain-English commands, spreadsheet-style functions, a fast interpreter: that is the philosophy behind its success, from individuals to the largest organisations.

Still alive

Where many languages of that era have vanished, Visual DialogScript keeps evolving — global variables, user-defined commands and functions, compilation to royalty-free distributable executables. It remains faithful to its founding principle: simplicity in the service of speed.
