The dialog desinger has options that you can change which effect how the dialog designer will behave.  Clicking on the Info button and then on the options button gives access to the windows below.

General Tab

Disallow multiple launch option will not allow more then one dialog designer to be launched at a time.  This option is for those users who only want to create a single dialog at one time without the fear of corrupting your dialogs.

Date stamp Dialogs option will put a date stamp on Dialog Models you save to disk.  Very benefical to the user so a date can be associated when the dialog was last edited/created.

Palette elements always on top option will put the elements palette window ontop of all other windows.  Good option which lets you easily design dialogs that maybe to large to fit on the screen and still give you access to the elements palette.

Generate resource file on exit option makes Dialog Designer creates a resource file for the script if required. Attention, it is secure to save the dialog itself before exiting, and when editing again the script, reload the saved dialog.

Allow text element size drag option lets the user change the height of the text element so the text can be wrapped with large text.  Should not be used with text that are simple labels.

Dialog size option lets you decide of the default dialog size when creating a new dialog with Dialog Designer.

This tab lets you decide of the default fonts and sizes available into the standard drop down list of the properties editor when editing a style.
